Well now.
I own the top 2 spots in the guild as far as levels go
Also nerf my gear.

231 shadow damage? Pre 60? WTF burning crusade!? I remember back when that was only achievable by pvp gear or raids. Scary thing is if I wanted to, I could potentially push 350-400 before setting foot in outlands.
Spirit and +dmg = win for this class. People argue mana efficiency, saying rubbish like mana per 5 and intellect are core and bla bla bla.
With the awesome bonus spell damage coefficients that my core spells get:
Mind Blast 42.86%
Mind Flay 59.0%
Shadowfiend 65.0%
Shadow Word: Death 42.86%
Shadow Word: Pain 120.0%
Vampiric Touch 100.0%
I am positive that things dying that much faster costs me less mana ultimately. As well as giving me maximum return on mana gained from vampiric touch.

Thats how the game is played.
According to reliable sources, you're a level 8 Tauren druid.
With no boobies.
So since I can't see it... are you using the build we brainstormed, or has it been modified?

also a link to my armory page that should work damnit. CLICK THIS
A few slight modifications, mostly due to fine print in game mechanics. I am not going to be losing spirit tap untill 70.
Shadow reach sucks balls in the fact that it only affects my damaging spells. None of the good utility spells that I rely on like silence, or mana burn benefit from it either. Ultimately it will give my vampiric touch, shadow word pain and mind blast 36yds with the additional range. While only 4 yards to my mindflay ( which makes it 24 yards. woo.) and leaves silence at 20, psychic scream at 8 and mana burn at 30. Pretty asinine since all the other range talents are solid for other classes.
Where the last 2 points are going to go is still in question. Shadow power seems to be a solid choice since I am going to be doing pvp for the most part. Or could go mental agility or something else useful. Dunno yet.
Edit:
BUILD LINK IS HERE DUE TO BLOGGER NOT LIKING LONG LINKS.
Shadow Reach was never in the build. Ugh.
Improved Mana Burn, that's the thing that really changes the build... you needed those 2 extra points in PW:Fort to qualify, so 4 points total out of Shadow... they were in Shadow Power and Improved Mind Blast, I think. Maybe some Shadow Focus.
Mana Burn's worth it, I gather?
Unfortunately mana burn is quite mediocre until you talent it, at which point it becomes mean and evil.
Its basically a sideboard spell for classes built around longevity via healing (pallies, resto shammans, druids, other priests).
@lvl70 Mana Burn
Discipline
mana:355
Drains 1021 to 1079 mana from a target. For each mana drained in this way, the target takes 0.5 damage.
3 seconds cast time. No scalability from +dmg gear.
The shadow damage is not really more than a bonus, but does return mana and health with the vampiric touch/embrace. The only painful thing about the spell is the cast time, and no talents that consistently reduce damage pushback in cast time.
Making it a 2 second cast makes it 33% more effective, and well worth the talents.
The imp mind blast isn't as practical as it should be, due to high mana cost vs mind flay. And using mind blast less means you get less out of shadow power.
I am pondering whether or not to put those 2 points in mind blast into shadow focus. And possibly removing the 2 I have in shadow power to put them somewhere more beneficial. Like absolution or mental agility.
Thoughts?
Say... does Blackout apply per tick on a DoT, or only on cast? If the former, Blackout 5; Shadow Focus 4; Imp Mind Blast 0; Shadow Power 0. But I doubt it, that sounds rather broken.
I'd go for Absolution over MA, probably... you're not a buff factory, which IIRC is most of a priest's instant-casts? Better to have a cheap dispel in a pinch.
Of course, you're going to eventually wind up with this.
